Fabric Forecast for 2014

Its big business trend forecasting as it needs a little bit more science than crystal ball gazing to get it right. Interiors fabrics often take their cue from fashion although maybe lag ever so slightly behind. As we are now half way through 2014 it’s a good time to reflect on the fabric trends predicted for 2014 and see if they’ve hit the mark.
Florals – a big hit on the catwalk and it seems a huge hit in the home. Exquisite florals are a key look although there are certainly less chintzy and more “loose’ and billowy than we’ve seen in the past.
Botanicals - Leaf prints are a big botanical theme this year but simplicity is key. It’s a trend I was instantly caught on and has been splashed across the pages of many “shelter” magazines.
Ethnic inspiration – dreams of far-off places, a melting pot of world cultures but contemporary. It hasn’t caught on in quite the same way yet but watch this space.
